Elohim wall

“Elohim” show The series is based on Elohim, which is a Hebrew word for God, often used by the Mormon faith. The word also means plurality of universes. Each walls consist of two Elohim characters reaching out for each other. Each character is a cartoon wizard with bubbly eyes and green/white hair. I was inspired by Michelangelo and with the two figures reaching out for each other. I used prescription bottles and cups as stencils to create the space circles in the background. The multiple bronze circles designate the many universes. The addition of the several panels adds to the plurality of the piece, breaks up the space and makes the work appear larger than its actual size.

Elohim series

It's really influenced by Michelangelo and the two persons meeting each other. Either way it's going to be up on a wall. I've reserved the wall at the Warehouse in August to convey my idea. But it's really a bunch of walls with two Elohims facing each other.
The figures were inspired by cartoon wizards. Lately I have been researching old cartoons and saw a wizard from a Scooby Doo cartoon was really inspired.
I chose to use several panels for the face. I liked the idea of splitting the face up. Elohim is a Hebrew word and is also another name for God in Mormonism. It also means other worlds.  So the multiple universes convey the plurality idea. There was a guy at art therapy who used to make space art with cups as a stencil. So I used that and prescription bottles.

need to add two panels to finish face

Nasty Women: Women Unite

I donated two paintings to the cause. There were a lot of talented female artists at the show.
I did two pictures that were studies of Minerva Teichert. I chose her as a subject because she is an under recognized female artists. Known to Mormons abut not really outside.

Ovesaved 1, 36X36, Acrylic on canvas

Oversaved 1, 36x36, Acrylic on canvas

Brigham Young said "No man can be oversaved." The idea of being oversaved intrigued me. For me, Joseph Smith is an enigmatic icon. The figure is an abstracted Josep Smith. He is being dunked with water. In the background are Joseph Smith spirit babies. They are holding watering cans. In the background are designs for seraphims which are like angels.
